MANILA, Philippines — Customs operatives recovered just two luxury cars belonging to controversial contractors Cezarah and Curlee Discaya during a search at their business compound in Pasig City on Tuesday.
Customs Chief of Staff Jek Casipit confirmed the seizure of a Toyota Land Cruiser and a Maserati at the St. Gerrard Construction General Contractor and Development Corp. in Barangay Bambang.
He said in an interview that the other cars covered by the warrant were not found in the property.
The raid followed revelations in the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee by Cezarah Discaya herself that she owned nine construction firms, which sometimes competed against each other in government project biddings.
Senators said this raised strong suspicions of collusion in the Department of Public Works and Highways flood control contracts, with Discaya-linked firms cornering more than 400 projects worth around ₱30 billion since 2022., This news data comes from:http://052298.com
Discaya also told senators she owned 28 luxury vehicles, valued at nearly ₱200 million, including a Rolls Royce, Bentley, and Mercedes Benz models.
